Screwplug
Immersion
Screwplug Immersion heaters include one, two, three or
six hair-pin bent tubular element(s) joined to a threaded
hex plug. Screwed into tank walls, this UL Listed / CSA
Certified direct contact heat source heats liquids, viscous
fluids, forced air and gases with maximum energy efficiency.
In addition, elements can be bent in many configurations
to suit a variety of applications. Most screwplug heaters
come with a thermowell (for temperature control sensor)
and a completely wired terminal box for electrical connection.
Certain models available with a patented 360° rotatable
terminal screwplug housing to facilitate easy conduit
connections. Select from a wide variety of sheath materials,
element lengths, plug sizes and rating from 0.5 kW and
up, for 120 to 600 volts. |

Circulation
Circulation heaters consist of a screwplug or flanged
type immersion heater mounted in a thermally insulated
heating chamber. Designed to provide high heating efficiency
to a flowing medium (liquid, steam, air or gas) by in-line
or side-arm operation. Circulation heaters can be designed
to withstand pressures to 500 psi and temperatures to
1200°F. Chromalox can provide thermocouple sensors to
connect to most controllers or provide on/off bulb & capillary
type controls. Complete skid mounted packages with controls
are available. Select from many terminal enclosures, sheath
and vessel materials, flanged connections and controls.
Power ratings range from 1.5 to 2000 kW, with some units
meeting UL, CSA, VDE and ASME codes. |

Flanged
Immersion
Flanged Immersion heater construction is similar to the
screwplug immersion heater with elements joined to a flange
that mates with a matching companion flange in a vessel
wall. Ideal for generating steam or heating gases and
liquids for use in pressure vessels and tanks. Factory
designed with a wide selection of ANSI and custom sized
flanges for industrial and OEM applications. Element lengths
to 240" long and rated up to 500 kW with watt densities
to suit many applications. Chromalox can also rebuild
large flanged heaters to save you money. Most units are
UL Listed and CSA Certified. |

Process
Air
Process
Air heaters include a broad variety of stock and custom
designs to heat air or other gases in ducts, autoclaves
or ovens. They employ an assembly of sheathed tubular,
finned tubular or finned strip elements in various configurations
that consistently outperform gas, oil and open coil electric
heaters. Process air heaters are available in voltages
to 600V, ratings to 3.2 megawatts and application temperatures
to 1200°F. Applications include warming, drying, preheating,
curing and heat treating. Elements are available separately
for use in OEM equipment such as space heaters and computer
room conditioning systems.

Over-the-Side
Immersion
Over-the-side Immersion heaters occupy little workspace,
require no tank penetrations, and are easily withdrawn
for servicing and replacement. They are immersed within
a tank to evenly distribute heat in a variety of applications
including acid or alkali solutions. Customize your heater
from a wide variety of voltages, sheath materials, kW
ratings, shapes, integrated thermostats, element configurations
and mounting methods. |

Strip/Ring/Disc
Strip/Ring/Disc heating elements are rugged and easy to
install for heat transfer by conduction or convection
to heat liquids, air, gases and surfaces with temperatures
to 1500°F and watt densities to 35 W/in2. Common
applications include drying, melting, baking and curing.
Strip heater sizes range from .5" wide to 2.5" and lengths
to 72" long. Heaters bolt or clamp to many surfaces. Nested
ring heaters can provide concentrated heat in small areas.
Select from many sheath materials, termination styles,
operating temperatures, sizes, voltages, wattage ratings
and mounting devices. |

Large
Tank
Large tank heaters are pre-engineered packages utilizing
metal sheath tubular or ceramic insulated, open coil pipe
insert heating components for use in 2" and 3"
nominal pipe sizes. Heaters provide low watt density heating
for such materials as asphalt, fuel oil, pitch and tar,
liquid sugar, molasses, lube oils, linseed oil and other
heat sensitive materials. Combining heating components
with temperature and power controls and safety cutouts
provides a complete tank heating system. Heating elements
can be removed without draining tanks for quick service.
Special designs for underground tanks are also available.
Choose from a wide selection of welded or flanged connections,
NEMA type control enclosures, voltages between 208 and
575 volts and ratings as high as 200 kW. Options include
special ratings, lengths to 40 feet, replacement parts
and back-up controls. Separate insert heaters are also
available. |
